Self-Proclaimed “Queen of Canada” Defends Herself in Court

Romana Didulo, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Canada,” appeared in a southern Saskatchewan courtroom this week, choosing to represent herself at a bail hearing.

The 50-year-old faces charges of breaching a court order and intimidating justice-system participants. Due to legal restrictions, details of the hearing remain under a publication ban.

Didulo was arrested following an RCMP raid on a compound in Richmound, west of Regina. The property, a decommissioned school converted into a compound, has been under investigation for months. During the raid, officers seized 13 imitation semi-automatic handguns, ammunition, and several electronic devices. Authorities also found parts of the building unfit for habitation.

Didulo has gained notoriety in Canada for her fringe political claims, including declaring herself the country’s sovereign leader. Her case continues to draw attention nationwide as questions remain about her movement and its influence on followers.
