Three men have been charged in connection with the daring 2022 escape of notorious B.C. gangster Rabih “Robby” Alkhalil from the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam.
Alkhalil, a high-profile figure in organized crime, reportedly may have been arrested in Qatar, though the RCMP has not yet confirmed his current custody status. Investigators are looking into whether two of the charged men, who allegedly posed as contractors, played a role in facilitating his escape.
The 2022 breakout drew widespread attention across Canada, highlighting security gaps at the pretrial facility and raising concerns about organized crime operations both domestically and abroad. The ongoing investigation continues to unravel the complex network behind Alkhalil’s escape.
