The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has emerged victorious in the just-concluded by-elections in Anambra State, securing both the senatorial and state assembly seats.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that APGA’s candidates triumphed in Onitsha and Nnewi constituencies, consolidating the party’s grip on its stronghold.
A Boost Ahead of 2027 Elections
Analysts see APGA’s performance as a momentum-builder for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“This victory reflects the people’s trust in APGA’s grassroots presence and governance model,” said Prof. Chinedu Eze, a political commentator.
Voter turnout, however, remained relatively low, raising concerns about electoral apathy in the region.
