Armed Fulani terrorists have launched a deadly attack on a group of female students in Southern Kaduna, killing many and abducting six others in a fresh wave of violence that has further heightened security concerns in the region.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday, April 27, 2026, when the attackers ambushed a truck conveying the students in a remote community within Southern Kaduna. The assailants reportedly opened fire on the vehicle, leading to the death of many students, while six others were forcefully taken away into the surrounding bush.

Sources familiar with the abduction said the victims were traveling when the bandits struck, taking advantage of the area’s vulnerability and limited security presence. The attack underscores the growing risks faced by civilians, particularly students, who often rely on road transport in rural parts of Kaduna State.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to release an official statement detailing rescue efforts or confirming whether security operatives had been deployed to track down the perpetrators. However, local residents expressed deep concern over the increasing frequency of such attacks, calling for urgent government intervention.

Southern Kaduna has remained a hotspot for banditry, kidnappings, and violent assaults in recent years, with communities repeatedly targeted by armed groups. Similar incidents in the past have involved mass abductions and killings, raising questions about the effectiveness of existing security measures in the region.

The latest attack adds to a troubling pattern of insecurity affecting educational institutions and young people in northern Nigeria. Observers warn that continued violence could disrupt access to education and deepen fear among residents already grappling with persistent instability.

Families of the abducted students are said to be in distress, as concerns grow over their safety in captivity. Meanwhile, community leaders are urging swift action from both state and federal authorities to secure the release of the victims and prevent further attacks.
