The United States has submitted a sweeping 15-point ceasefire proposal to Iran in a renewed push to end the escalating Middle East war, even as fresh military deployments and continued attacks signal that the conflict remains far from over.
According to officials familiar with the development, the proposal was delivered to Tehran through intermediaries, including Pakistan, which has offered to host peace negotiations between both sides.
US President Donald Trump confirmed that Washington is actively engaged in efforts to end the war, stating that talks are ongoing with what he described as “the right people” in Iran. He also suggested that Tehran is eager to reach a deal, although Iranian authorities have denied that any direct negotiations are taking place.
The proposed plan reportedly includes major conditions such as the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program, cessation of support for proxy armed groups, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz—a critical global oil route that has been heavily disrupted since the conflict began.
Despite the diplomatic push, hostilities have continued to intensify across the region. Iranian forces have launched fresh attacks targeting Israel and strategic locations in Gulf countries, including an incident that sparked a fire at Kuwait International Airport, highlighting the widening scope of the war.
At the same time, the United States is preparing to significantly increase its military presence in the Middle East. Reports indicate that thousands of troops from the elite 82nd Airborne Division are expected to be deployed to reinforce the more than 50,000 American personnel already stationed in the region.
The war, now entering its fourth week, has already triggered a severe global energy crisis, with disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz affecting nearly 20 percent of the world’s oil supply and sending fuel prices soaring worldwide.
Pakistan’s role as a potential mediator has gained prominence, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressing readiness to host high-level peace talks and facilitate dialogue between Washington and Tehran in a bid to end the conflict.
However, uncertainty continues to surround the prospects of a ceasefire, as both sides remain deeply entrenched in their positions. Analysts warn that the combination of ongoing military escalation and fragile diplomacy could either lead to a breakthrough or push the region deeper into prolonged conflict.
As the world watches closely, the proposed ceasefire plan represents one of the most significant diplomatic efforts yet to halt the war—but with bombs still falling and troops mobilizing, peace remains uncertain.
