“’Kill All Jews’ Graffiti at Concordia Sparks Outcry, Raises Alarms over Campus Antisemitism”

Montreal — A deeply disturbing antisemitic message was discovered scrawled in a bathroom at Concordia University over the weekend: “Kill all Jews,” alongside the phrase “Allahu Akbar,” sparking condemnation from Jewish advocacy groups and renewed scrutiny of the university’s handling of hate on campus.

B’nai Brith Canada called the graffiti “a direct threat to Jewish students,” warning that “open hostility is now routine” at Concordia, despite the university’s public assurances of safety.

In response, Concordia’s leadership reiterated that antisemitism “has no place on our campus,” labeling the vandalism “categorically unacceptable.

This incident further intensifies concern over long-standing tensions at Concordia. Earlier this year, the downtown Azrieli Institute of Israel Studies was vandalized — windows broken, doors spray-painted — in an attack under investigation by Montreal’s hate crimes unit.

Critics argue the university’s current approach fails to adequately protect Jewish students, pointing to a larger pattern of normalized hostility.

As the fallout continues, B’nai Brith has announced the launch of its Campus Accountability Roundtable, an initiative intended to hold institutions accountable for protecting Jewish students and preventing hate-motivated violence.
