A Russian strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro has killed at least two people and injured eight others, as the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine continues to claim civilian lives.

According to regional authorities, the attack occurred on Thursday, leaving multiple casualties and significant damage in its wake. Officials confirmed that one person remains missing following the strike, raising fears that the death toll could increase.

Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the regional administration, stated that emergency responders were immediately deployed to the scene to assist victims and assess the extent of the destruction. Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities continue to search for the missing individual.

The city of Dnipro, located in eastern Ukraine, has been a frequent target of attacks since the start of the conflict. The latest strike adds to a series of incidents that have impacted civilian infrastructure and heightened humanitarian concerns in the region.

Ukraine has repeatedly accused Russia of targeting civilian areas, while Moscow has denied deliberately striking non-military targets. The war, which began in 2022, has resulted in thousands of deaths, widespread destruction, and the displacement of millions of people.

Analysts say the continued attacks underscore the ongoing intensity of the conflict, despite periodic calls from the international community for ceasefire and negotiations. Efforts to reach a lasting peace agreement have so far failed, with both sides maintaining strong military positions.

The international community has continued to monitor developments closely, with renewed appeals for restraint and protection of civilians caught in the conflict.

As fighting persists, the situation in eastern Ukraine remains volatile, with civilians bearing the brunt of ongoing hostilities and uncertainty surrounding the path toward peace.
