LONDON — U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that it is “too late” for negotiations with Iran, saying Washington will continue its military campaign as the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran enters its fourth day.
In a message posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran had attempted to seek talks with Washington, but insisted the opportunity for diplomacy had already passed. “They want to talk. I said ‘Too Late!’,” he wrote, while asserting that Iran’s air defenses, air force, navy and leadership structures had been severely weakened by ongoing attacks.
The president also emphasized that the United States possesses a “virtually unlimited supply” of munitions, suggesting that American forces are capable of sustaining prolonged military operations if necessary. He added that the U.S. military remains fully prepared for extended conflict.
Trump made the remarks as the U.S. and Israeli air campaign against Iran continues to expand following strikes launched over the weekend. Speaking briefly at the White House ahead of a Medal of Honor ceremony, Trump declined to give a precise timeline for the military operations but said earlier projections estimated the campaign might last four to five weeks.
“We’re already substantially ahead of our time projections,” Trump said, adding that the duration of the campaign would depend on how events unfold.
The escalating conflict has triggered widespread international concern, with several countries urging restraint while preparing evacuation plans for their citizens across the Middle East. Analysts warn that the continued exchange of attacks between Iran and its adversaries could draw more regional actors into the conflict, raising the risk of a wider war.
As diplomatic efforts appear to stall, the latest statement from Washington signals that military pressure will remain the primary strategy, at least for the immediate future.
