Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have held high-level defense talks to address escalating security threats following recent Iranian attacks on the Kingdom amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman met with Pakistan’s Chief of Defense Forces, General Asim Munir, to discuss the security situation and explore joint measures to counter the threat posed by Iran’s military actions.
According to Prince Khalid, the discussions focused on steps needed to stop Iranian attacks within the framework of the Joint Strategic Defense Agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The Saudi defense chief revealed the outcome of the talks in a message shared on social media.
“We discussed Iranian attacks on the Kingdom and the measures needed to halt them within the framework of our Joint Strategic Defense Agreement,” Prince Khalid said.
Both sides expressed concern that the attacks could undermine regional stability and increase tensions across the Middle East. The leaders stressed the importance of coordinated defense cooperation and called for restraint to prevent further escalation.
The Saudi defense minister also emphasized the need for Iran to avoid actions that could worsen the situation, expressing hope that the Iranian leadership would act with caution and prevent further miscalculations that might lead to wider regional conflict.
The meeting comes at a time when tensions across the Middle East have intensified due to the ongoing war involving Iran and its regional rivals. Security concerns have increased across Gulf states as missile and drone threats continue to emerge during the conflict.
Analysts say the discussions between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan highlight growing defense cooperation between the two countries as they respond to the evolving security environment in the region.
Officials from both countries are expected to continue consultations as the crisis develops, with the aim of strengthening regional security and preventing further attacks on Saudi territory.
