Speaking amid intensifying regional hostilities, Chinese officials stressed that the ongoing use of force is fueling instability and could plunge the entire Middle East into deeper chaos if not urgently addressed.
China’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, Zhai Jun, emphasized that those responsible for initiating the conflict must take the lead in resolving it, underscoring Beijing’s position that military action is not a sustainable solution.
Echoing this stance, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian warned that continued strikes would only create a “vicious cycle” of retaliation, increasing the risk of wider regional collapse.
The warning comes as tensions surge across the Gulf, with ongoing clashes involving Iran, the U.S., and Israel already impacting multiple countries and threatening critical global energy routes. Analysts say the conflict is no longer contained and is rapidly evolving into a broader geopolitical crisis with global consequences.
China also pointed to historical lessons, referencing the long-term devastation caused by past wars in the Middle East, including the Iraq conflict, as evidence that military interventions often lead to prolonged instability and human suffering.
Beyond security concerns, Beijing highlighted the economic dangers of continued escalation. Disruptions to key oil routes such as the Strait of Hormuz could severely impact global energy supply, drive up inflation, and weaken international trade factors that could ripple across economies worldwide.
Despite the rising tensions, China maintains that it is actively engaging with all parties involved, positioning itself as a mediator seeking to de-escalate the crisis and restore stability in the region.
The latest intervention from Beijing reflects growing international concern that without immediate restraint, the Middle East could spiral into a full-scale regional war—one that may prove far more destructive than previous conflicts.
As global powers weigh their next moves, China’s message is clear: stop the fighting now, or risk unleashing a cycle of violence that could engulf the entire region and destabilize the world economy.
