Abuja, Nigeria — November 15, 2025 — The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) says there is a “Christian genocide” taking place across the country, accusing the government of complicity in widespread violence and calling for urgent intervention.
At an emergency executive meeting held at the PFN’s national headquarters in Lagos, PFN President, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, appealed to both national and international actors to stop what he described as systematic targeting of Christians. He cited reported “killings, rapes, and displacements” of Christians in states including Borno, Plateau, and Benue.
Oke pointed to several tragic incidents: the massacre at Dogon Noma in Plateau State, where he claims 501 Christians were killed; the Christmas Day bloodshed in Benue State, which he said left “hundreds” dead; and ongoing kidnappings of Christian girls like Leah Sharibu and the Chibok schoolgirls.
He called on President Bola Tinubu to collaborate with U.S. leaders, especially Donald Trump, to address the security crisis. “Work together so Nigerians can live in peace,” Oke urged.
PFN has also criticized the government’s rehabilitation policies for “repentant terrorists,” describing them as a “grave security risk.”
PFN has vowed to continue speaking out “until justice is done” and pressed for a thorough overhaul of Nigeria’s security architecture to protect vulnerable communities.
