Nigerian Police Officer Rescued After Three Months in Captivity in Kwara Forest

An officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Inspector Ibrahim Muhammad, attached to the Patigi Division in Kwara State, has been rescued after enduring approximately three months of captivity in a forest hideout. According to a source close to the rescue operation, the abducted officer was released by his captors and recovered on November 9, after being taken on August 10, 2025. The rescue was conducted by the Department of State Services (DSS) operatives who located him abandoned in the forest and handed him over to the Kwara State Police Command. Security sources say the state command was notified of the recovery around 5:00 pm on the same day. Muhammad is reported to be in stable condition and is currently undergoing debriefing; however, police authorities have not disclosed whether any ransom was paid or if any arrests have been made in connection with his initial abduction. The Kwara State Police Command assured that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators. The rescue offers relief to both the police force and the family of the officer, who endured weeks of uncertainty and trauma.
