In an interview with Piers Morgan, Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo of the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr said that he disagrees with the opinion that Argentine forward Lionel Messi of the American club Inter Miami is better than him.
"I don't agree with the idea that Messi is better than me. I don't want to be modest," the striker noted.
Ronaldo is a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, a five-time Champions League winner, and a European Champion with Portugal. Ronaldo holds the world record for most goals scored for his national team: he currently has 143 for the Portuguese national team. He has scored a total of 950 goals in his football career.
Messi is a product of Barcelona's youth system . He played for the senior team from 2003 to 2021, during which time he played 835 matches, scoring 709 goals. Messi won the Champions League four times with Barcelona, won the World Cup with Argentina in 2022, and won the Copa América twice. He also played for Paris Saint-Germain.
