TORONTO, Canada — Peel Regional Police have issued an urgent public warning after a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with the alleged murder of his parents was reportedly seen near Humber Bay Park in Toronto's south Etobicoke area on Friday evening.
Police said there was a confirmed sighting of Jordan Sangwin, 46, at approximately 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard West and Yachter Lane. Officers immediately responded to the area and launched an intensive search, urging residents not to approach the suspect under any circumstances.
Investigators described Sangwin as armed and dangerous and warned that anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately rather than attempt to confront him. At the time of the latest sighting, he was reportedly wearing a green hoodie over a red T-shirt, shorts, and carrying a black duffel bag.
The latest development comes just days after Sangwin was allegedly spotted in High Park in Toronto on Monday night, prompting another extensive police search. Authorities have been tracking his movements since June 18, when emergency responders discovered a 70-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries inside a residence in Mississauga. Both victims were later pronounced dead in hospital.
Police have identified the deceased as Sangwin's parents. Investigators subsequently obtained a Canada-wide warrant charging him with two counts of first-degree murder. While authorities have not publicly disclosed a motive, detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Law enforcement agencies across the Greater Toronto Area remain actively involved in the search. Officers have increased patrols in neighborhoods where the suspect has been reported and continue to follow up on tips received from members of the public. Police have also released updated photographs and descriptions in an effort to locate him quickly.
Residents living near Humber Bay Park and surrounding communities have been advised to remain vigilant and immediately report any sightings of the suspect. Authorities emphasized that public safety remains their top priority and reiterated that Sangwin should be considered dangerous until taken into custody.
