Atiku Urges Tinubu to Declare State of Emergency on Insecurity After Niger School Abduction

Abuja — Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned the recent abduction of students and staff at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, calling for a state of emergency on national insecurity

Reacting via his social media account, Atiku described the attack as “truly heartbreaking,” lamenting that innocent lives continue to be shattered by the country’s spiraling security crisis.  He questioned how many more such incidents must occur before the government takes urgent and decisive action.

Atiku insisted that the situation demands “extraordinary” measures, warning that unless the Federal Government steps up, the country could descend further into chaos.

His call comes amid growing national outrage over a spike in mass kidnappings across Nigeria, particularly targeting schools.
