Hamilton police have laid multiple provincial charges against an east-end bar following months of community complaints involving disorderly conduct, safety concerns, and alleged violations of liquor licence regulations. Authorities confirmed that the investigation focused on Wally’s World Bar and Grill located on King Street East in Hamilton, Ontario.
According to investigators, the establishment became the subject of repeated police attention after several incidents in the surrounding neighbourhood, including a shooting in August 2025 and another shooting on April 18, 2026, which remains under investigation. Police said the incidents contributed to growing concerns from residents and local businesses about public safety in the area.
Hamilton Police Service said officers conducted a liquor licence inspection at the bar around 4 a.m. on May 15, 2026. During the inspection, authorities allegedly discovered several violations, including the sale and service of alcohol outside permitted hours, failure to comply with liquor licence conditions, permitting intoxication and disorderly conduct, smoking and cannabis use inside the establishment, and failure to properly control activities on the premises. Police also alleged that officers were obstructed during the execution of their duties.
Charges were subsequently filed under Ontario’s Liquor Licence and Control Act as well as the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. Those charged include Wally’s World Bar & Grill Inc., identified as the corporate licence holder, alongside an individual identified as the liquor licence holder and another individual described as a bartender and owner of the corporation.
Police stated that the enforcement action forms part of broader efforts to respond to persistent neighbourhood concerns regarding late-night disturbances, suspected after-hours alcohol sales, and repeated police calls linked to the establishment. Authorities encouraged residents to continue reporting incidents and suspicious activities in the area, stressing that community cooperation remains important in addressing ongoing safety concerns.
The case has continued to attract public attention across Hamilton, with many residents expressing concern over repeated violent incidents and ongoing disturbances tied to nightlife establishments in the city’s east end.
