Suspected terrorists have abducted seven members of a single family along with three other residents in a fresh attack in Southern Kaduna, deepening fears over the worsening security situation in the region.
According to reports published on April 4, 2026, the incident occurred in Unguwar Sabon Titi, a community in the Katari area of Kaduna State, where armed assailants stormed the village late at night and carried out the abduction.
Local sources revealed that the attackers invaded the community under the cover of darkness, moving from house to house before abducting their victims. The seven family members were taken alongside three additional residents, bringing the total number of abducted persons to ten.
Residents described the attack as sudden and terrifying, noting that the gunmen operated for several minutes without resistance, leaving families in distress and uncertainty over the fate of their loved ones.
The latest abduction adds to a growing pattern of insecurity in Kaduna State, where banditry, kidnappings, and violent raids on rural communities have become increasingly frequent. In recent years, several communities across the state have experienced similar attacks involving mass abductions and killings.
Security agencies have yet to release a detailed official statement regarding the incident at the time of reporting, and it remains unclear whether any rescue operation has been initiated or if contact has been made with the abductors.
Community members have called on government and security authorities to intensify patrols and strengthen protection in vulnerable areas, warning that continued attacks are forcing residents to live in constant fear.
Kaduna State has remained one of Nigeria’s most affected regions by armed violence, with repeated incidents of kidnapping for ransom and coordinated attacks on villages, schools, and religious institutions highlighting the scale of the security crisis.
As families await news of the abducted victims, the latest incident underscores the urgent need for stronger security interventions to curb the rising wave of terror in northern Nigeria.
