A former Nigerian Army nurse has raised fresh alarm over her safety, declaring that the military should be held responsible if anything happens to her, following her earlier allegations of sexual harassment against senior officers.

According to Sahara Reporters, the ex-soldier made the statement amid claims of intimidation and threats after she accused high-ranking officers of misconduct during her time in service.

In a distressing message, she warned that her life may be in danger, urging the public to hold the Nigerian Army accountable should she be found dead. Her statement has sparked renewed concern over her safety and the handling of her allegations.

The case stems from earlier claims in which the former nurse accused senior military officers of sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and victimization after she allegedly refused their advances. Reports indicate that she faced pressure, intimidation, and disciplinary actions during her service, which ultimately led to her exit from the military.

Civil society groups and advocacy organizations have since called for an independent investigation into the allegations. They argue that the case highlights broader systemic issues within the military, particularly regarding the treatment of female personnel and the challenges of reporting abuse in a hierarchical institution.

The latest development has intensified public debate, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the safety of whistleblowers and the need for accountability within the armed forces. Observers warn that failure to address such allegations transparently could further erode trust in military institutions.

As of the time of reporting, the Nigerian Army has not issued a detailed public response to the latest claims. Meanwhile, calls continue to grow for authorities to ensure the safety of the former nurse and to conduct a thorough, independent probe into the allegations.

The case remains a focal point in ongoing discussions about human rights, gender protection, and institutional accountability in Nigeria.
