An Iranian missile attack has killed many persons in Israel, raising the country’s death toll from the ongoing war between Iran, Israel, and the United States to 11 people, according to Israeli authorities.

Israeli emergency services said several explosions were heard across central Israel after the military detected a fresh wave of missiles launched from Iran. Paramedics from the Magen David Adom emergency service were deployed to multiple impact sites, where they treated victims and searched for additional casualties.

Officials reported that at least two men were found unconscious with serious injuries as rescue teams continued to assess the damage caused by the missile strikes.

The attack occurred shortly after Iran’s state broadcaster confirmed that Iran had fired its first wave of missiles toward Israel following the appointment of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new supreme leader.

Mojtaba Khamenei was selected by Iran’s Assembly of Experts, an 88-member clerical body responsible for appointing the country’s supreme leader. He became Iran’s third supreme leader since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, succeeding his father Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed earlier in the war.

Iranian state media reported that the missile barrage was carried out under the authority of the new leader, and images circulated online showed missiles bearing the slogan “At Your Command, Sayyid Mojtaba.”

Israeli military officials said defense systems were activated to intercept the incoming missiles, though some projectiles reportedly struck targets on the ground. Authorities said investigations were underway to determine the full extent of the damage.

The latest strikes mark another escalation in the rapidly expanding regional war, which has already involved missile attacks, drone strikes, and air-defense interceptions across several Middle Eastern countries.

Analysts warn that the continued exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel could further intensify the conflict, raising fears of a broader regional war with significant global political and economic consequences.
