A female passenger has been confirmed dead while six other people sustained injuries following a tragic road accident along the Oworonsoki–Apapa Expressway in Lagos State.

The crash reportedly occurred at New Castle Bus Stop, inward Gbagada, when a commercial bus was involved in a serious accident that left passengers trapped and injured. According to reports, the female passenger died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash, while six other occupants of the vehicle suffered varying degrees of injuries. The injured victims were taken to medical facilities for urgent treatment.

Witnesses at the scene said the accident caused panic and heavy traffic congestion along the busy expressway as rescue efforts were carried out. Security and traffic officials were later deployed to manage the situation and clear the road.

Road accidents remain a major concern on Lagos highways, particularly on heavily trafficked routes such as the Oworonsoki–Apapa Expressway, which connects several key parts of the state and often experiences high vehicle volumes.
