Jihadist Militants Abduct Two Farmers in Fresh Community Raid In Nigeria

Armed bandits have abducted two people working on a farm in Kogi State’s Adavi Local Government Area, local sources confirmed to Dalena Reporters on Tuesday, February 11, 2026.

According to residents of the affected community, the incident occurred earlier in the day when the victims described as farm workers were tending to crops near their settlement in a rural part of the state. Unidentified gunmen on motorcycles reportedly arrived unexpectedly, seized the men and forced them into nearby bushland before departing.

Eyewitnesses said the attack left other community members terrified and displaced, with several families fleeing their homes in fear of further violence. Some residents described a growing sense of insecurity in recent weeks, noting that armed groups have increasingly targeted farmers and remote villages in the region.

The Kogi State Police Command had not released an official statement on the abduction at the time of reporting, and details regarding the identities or conditions of the abducted individuals were not immediately available.

Security analysts say such incidents are part of a broader pattern of banditry and rural predation that has disrupted agricultural activities and livelihoods in parts of central and northern Nigeria, where farmers working in isolated fields have become vulnerable to kidnappings and raiding parties.

Residents and civic leaders have urged heightened patrols, stronger intelligence gathering and community protection efforts from security forces to prevent repeat attacks and secure the release of those taken.
