January 28, 2026 — Dalena Reporters

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a pregnant woman and injured a 90-year-old man in an attack on a community in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, residents told Dalena Reporters on Wednesday.

According to local sources, the incident occurred in the Ita-Ara community on Tuesday evening when a group of armed men stormed the area, shooting sporadically and causing panic among residents.

One resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the kidnappers “came suddenly, opened fire and whisked away a pregnant woman identified as Mrs. Funmilola Adegoke,” telling other villagers to stay in their homes.

The source added that during the raid, a 90-year-old man, Chief Samuel Oladimeji, was struck by a bullet and sustained injuries to his leg. He was reportedly taken to a nearby clinic for treatment.

Another community leader described the attack as “brazen and frightening,” saying that the kidnappers moved through the village quickly before escaping in a waiting vehicle.

Efforts to reach the Ondo State Police Command for confirmation and details about the incident were not immediately successful as of publication.

Residents of Ita-Ara are asking security agencies to step up patrols and investigations to rescue the abducted woman and prevent further attacks.
