United States President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, threatening to destroy key oil and electricity infrastructure if the strategic Strait of Hormuz is not reopened amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement posted on social media on Monday, Trump said Washington had been engaged in both direct and indirect talks with Iran, expressing cautious optimism that a deal could still be reached. However, he warned that failure to reopen the critical waterway would trigger severe military consequences.

The US president declared that if the situation does not improve, American forces could target Iran’s oil wells, power plants, and the vital Kharg Island oil export terminal, signaling a potential expansion of military action in the region.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important oil transit chokepoints, and any disruption has immediate global economic implications, particularly for energy markets.

The warning comes as tensions continue to rise between Iran and Israel, with reports of missile exchanges and escalating military activity across the region. Iran has launched multiple waves of missiles, while Israeli forces have carried out strikes targeting sites in Tehran.

The conflict has further expanded with the involvement of Iran-aligned groups, including Yemen’s Houthi movement, which has reportedly launched attacks toward Israel, raising fears of a broader regional war.

Trump’s remarks underscore growing international concern over the security of global oil supply routes and the risk of a wider conflict that could draw in multiple countries across the Middle East.

While diplomatic efforts are reportedly ongoing, the situation remains volatile, with global leaders closely monitoring developments and urging restraint to prevent further escalation.
