Nigeria’s leading record label Chocolate City Music has publicly accused rapper Tochukwu “Odumodublvck” Gbubemi Ojogwu of physical assault, threats and harassment in what it describes as a sustained and escalating campaign of violence against its staff, artists and executives. The claims were laid out in a detailed statement released by the label on Tuesday night following an alleged incident at one of the country’s biggest entertainment events.

According to Chocolate City, the most recent incident took place in the early hours of December 22, 2025, in the backstage area of the Rhythm Unplugged Concert in Lagos, where Odumodublvck is accused of approaching and headbutting a staff member, Feyi Ajayi, without provocation. The label said multiple eyewitnesses reported that before the assault, Odumodublvck made threatening statements about the company and its leadership. After the alleged headbutt, the rapper and his associates reportedly poured drinks on the injured staffer and hurled insults at Chocolate City personnel. Ajayi was said to have been taken for medical treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

Chocolate City framed the backstage assault as part of a broader pattern of alleged wrongdoing involving Odumodublvck dating back to late 2024 and into 2025, including:

  • A reported altercation at Landmark Beach where he is said to have assaulted fellow artist Blaqbonez and seized his eyeglasses.
  • An alleged confrontation in Uyo, where he reportedly cornered Blaqbonez in a hotel elevator with associates and threatened violence.
  • Claims he directed his team to attack other artists and label associates at public venues.
  • Alleged cyberbullying, intimidation and hundreds of threatening messages sent to artists, managers and executives associated with Chocolate City, extending even to family members.

The label stressed that while rap beefs and rivalries are common in hip-hop culture, what it describes as physical violence, stalking, threats with weapons and intimidation have crossed a line into criminal conduct. The statement said the company has already reported the matter to law-enforcement authorities and intends to pursue all available legal avenues to protect its team and artists. It also urged event organisers and industry stakeholders to enhance security protocols at live shows.

Odumodublvck — one of Nigeria’s most prominent rappers — has not yet publicly responded to the latest set of allegations. In recent months he has faced separate legal challenges, including a court summons in Abuja over alleged criminal intimidation linked to interactions with Chocolate City executives, further underscoring the bitterness of the feud within the Nigerian music industry.

The feud has attracted wider attention in the entertainment world, with supporters and critics debating how artistic rivalry, social-media clashes and interpersonal disputes intersect with accountability and safety in the creative sector. As of this report, no arrests or formal charges have been announced in connection with the Rhythm Unplugged incident itself.
