KADUNA — In a grim demonstration of continuing insecurity in rural Kaduna State, armed terrorist struck at night in Tudun Wadan Rido, a village in the Chikun Local Government Area, killing many residents and injuring several others, sources told Dalena Reporters.
Residents said the assailants described as “heavily armed” and arriving in large numbers opened fire indiscriminately as villagers slept or attempted to flee, plunging the community into panic and chaos. Victims who survived the initial gunfire were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, though many remain wounded.
At the time of the report, no official statement had been issued by state security authorities, leaving residents and observers calling for urgent action to restore calm and ensure protection for vulnerable rural communities.
The attack adds to a growing list of violent incidents across Kaduna State in recent weeks, feeding anxieties among rural populations exposed to repeated nocturnal raids, kidnappings and killings. Similar assaults have targeted farming and roadside communities a trend that underscores the fragile security situation in many local government areas.
For the people of Tudun Wadan Rido, the latest tragedy is more than a statistic: it is a reinforcement of fear and a stark refusal of officials to guarantee safety. Until credible security measures are put in place, villagers say they remain exposed to renewed attacks, forced displacement, and daily threats to life and livelihood.
