“I WON’T GO HUNGRY,” PELLER REACTS TO TIKTOK NIGHT LIVE STREAM BAN

Popular Nigerian content creator Peller has dismissed fears that he will suffer financially following TikTok’s new restriction on late-night live streams across Nigeria. The social-media company, in a notice issued at midnight Sunday, announced a temporary limitation of its LIVE feature for Nigerian users during late-night hours, citing an ongoing safety investigation.

In a video he posted on Monday, Peller challenged critics who assumed the ban would leave him “crying” or “hungry.” He argued that such assumptions underestimate the strength and diversity of his income sources. As he put it: “I’m an ambassador to numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than ₦40 million.

According to Peller, while TikTok has contributed to his visibility and fan base, his financial stability depends largely on long-term brand partnerships and endorsements — not solely on livestream gifts or direct TikTok income. He also pointed out that many young Nigerians have come to depend on TikTok as a platform to generate income and build careers, warning that restrictions like the night-time ban could undermine those opportunities.

Peller emphasised that he remains committed to producing content and engaging with his audience, even amid the restrictions. He stressed that his digital reach and brand value extend beyond the platform’s LIVE feature — a diversification he said will ensure he remains unaffected financially despite regulatory changes.

The evening streaming blackout by TikTok has sparked widespread concern among content creators, many of whom rely on live-streaming for direct income and digital visibility. Peller’s reaction thus serves as both personal reassurance and a public statement on the resilience of social media influencers under shifting platform policies.
