Macron Vows to “Do Everything Possible” to Prevent Further Paris Attacks Amid Rising Security Fears

By Dalena Reporters — Paris, France

French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to deploy every available national security mechanism to prevent further terrorist attacks in Paris, following renewed concerns over extremist threats targeting major European capitals.

Speaking in Paris after a high-level security briefing with intelligence chiefs, Macron said France is entering a period that demands “uncompromising vigilance” and a coordinated national response aimed at safeguarding the country from the type of deadly incidents that have shaken the capital in recent weeks.

He reaffirmed that the government will not tolerate any security gaps and insisted that French agencies have been instructed to reinforce surveillance, expand counter-terror operations and increase intelligence sharing across Europe. Macron noted that France has already raised its national security alert level, repositioned armed units in public spaces, and expanded monitoring of radical networks believed to be connected to foreign extremist groups. He described current threats as “hybrid and evolving,” emphasising that radicalised individuals operating alone or in small cells pose a major challenge to global intelligence systems. The President confirmed that France is working closely with European Union partners, particularly intelligence agencies in Germany, Belgium and Spain, to trace cross-border movements linked to the suspects behind recent attacks. He added that French diplomatic missions have intensified engagement with North African and Middle Eastern governments to locate recruitment pipelines and financiers associated with extremists operating on European soil.

Macron said his administration will strengthen community-level vigilance programmes, improve public-safety response readiness, and increase support for counter-radicalisation initiatives aimed at preventing young people from being drawn into extremist indoctrination. He reassured French citizens that the government remains in full control of the situation, calling for unity and calm while security agencies expand operations intended to dismantle domestic and external networks enabling the attackers.

The French leader concluded by pledging that his government will “do everything, absolutely everything, to protect the people of France,” stressing that ensuring national safety remains the country’s highest priority in the face of renewed terror threats.
