Lagos, Nigeria — November 1, 2025 | Dalena Reporters The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a commercial taxi driver, identified as Adedayo Ben Adegbola, allegedly responsible for a string of sexual assaults and armed robbery attacks targeting female passengers in the state.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the suspect was apprehended on October 31, 2025, by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, following complaints and viral social-media posts from alleged victims. The arrest was ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohunnare Jimoh, after the complaints prompted a discreet investigation.
The suspect’s vehicle — a red Toyota Corolla with registration JJJ 226 HT — was recovered and secured as an exhibit. The police said that ongoing investigations aim to identify potential accomplices and urged other victims to come forward, assuring anonymity and protection.
