In Nigeria Fulani Terrorist Herdsmen Killed My Husband While He Dredged Sand, Says Enugu ------ Widow

Enugu State, Nigeria — A 27‑year-old widow in Enugu has shared a harrowing account of how her husband was killed by suspected herdsmen while working on a sand‑dredging project.

According to her testimony, her husband was stabbed to death by the assailants as he operated in a riverbed dredging sand — a key economic activity in their community. She described the violence as sudden and brutal, leaving her with four young children who now face hardship without their father.

She calls on the government to urgently intervene and bring the perpetrators to justice, lamenting that life has become extremely difficult as she struggles to provide for her family alone.

Her story is part of a broader pattern of conflict between herders and local communities in Enugu State, where violence has destroyed livelihoods and led to the loss of many lives.
