BREAKING Terrorist Attack 18-Seater Bus On Osokoko–Obajana Road In Kogi State, Nigeria Abduct Passengers

KOGI STATE — Armed bandits have carried out a brazen attack along the Osokoko–Obajana road in Kogi State, targeting two commercial 18-seater buses. Eyewitnesses report that while one of the buses managed to escape, the other was intercepted — and all the passengers aboard were abducted.

The incident, which occurred Thursday afternoon, sparked immediate panic among travellers and residents along the route. According to Egbe Mekun Parrot — a local media outlet — the attackers blocked the road and forced the bus to stop before forcing passengers into hiding.

Responding rapidly to distress calls, troops of the Nigerian Army reportedly arrived at the scene and engaged the assailants, clearing the highway and preventing casualties among other motorists. A video circulating online shows travellers stranded on the road until soldiers secured the area.

At this time, the exact number of abducted passengers remains unknown. Local sources confirmed that “those on board the intercepted bus were taken away,” but no official toll has been released.

The attack underscores the escalating security crisis along vital transport corridors in Kogi State — part of a broader pattern of mass-kidnappings and highway ambushes across Nigeria’s central and northern regions in recent weeks.

Authorities and security agencies have yet to release a formal statement about the incident. However, locals are already warning travellers to avoid the Osokoko–Obajana route until the area is thoroughly secured.

Dalena Reporters will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
