Four individuals have been federally charged following violent protests outside an ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois, over the weekend.
Authorities allege that the defendants assaulted and resisted federal officers. One man, Paul Ivery, reportedly threatened to kill an agent, jumped on a vehicle, and engaged physically with law enforcement.
The clash was part of a broader escalation at the facility, where protesting crowds were met with tear gas, pepper balls, and other chemical agents by federal forces.
Local and state officials, including Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, have condemned the tactics used by federal agents, accusing them of intimidation and overreach.
