The Nigerian Government has denied Extradition Process Against Simon Ekpa

The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) has officially stated that there is currently no extradition process underway against Simon Ekpa, the pro-Biafra separatist leader residing in Finland. This clarification comes amid widespread reports suggesting that the Nigerian government had initiated steps to extradite Ekpa to face charges related to alleged incitement and terrorism.

The AGF emphasized that, while the Nigerian government remains concerned about Ekpa's activities, particularly his alleged role in inciting unrest in the southeastern region of Nigeria, no formal extradition proceedings have been commenced at this time.

Ekpa, who leads the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), has been a controversial figure due to his advocacy for Biafran independence and his organization of "sit-at-home" orders, which have significantly disrupted daily life in parts of southeastern Nigeria. Finnish authorities have detained Ekpa and are currently conducting investigations into his activities.

The AGF's statement aims to correct misinformation and assure the public that any actions taken will adhere to legal protocols and international cooperation standards.
