The United Arab Emirates has suspended physical classes in schools nationwide and shifted students to remote learning following renewed drone and missile attacks attributed to Iran, as regional tensions continue to escalate.
According to reports, the decision affects both public and private educational institutions, with authorities prioritizing the safety of students, teachers, and administrative staff. The temporary move to online learning is expected to run for several days while the security situation is reassessed.
Government officials said the measure was taken as a precaution after multiple aerial threats—including ballistic missiles and drones—were intercepted by the country’s air defence systems. The attacks are part of a broader wave of hostilities linked to the ongoing conflict in the Gulf region.
The UAE Ministry of Education emphasized that the shift to дистанce learning aims to ensure continuity in education while minimizing risks associated with potential strikes or falling debris from intercepted projectiles. Authorities indicated that the situation will be reviewed before deciding whether to extend or lift the restrictions.

In one reported case, a drone strike near a key oil facility resulted in injuries to civilians, highlighting the growing threat to infrastructure and public safety.
