LOS ANGELES, CA — The 68th Annual Grammy Awards culminated in a landmark evening of musical achievement on Sunday, with a diverse slate of artists earning top honours across genres in Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. The ceremony celebrating excellence in recordings released during the eligibility window was hosted for the sixth and final time by Trevor Noah and recognized artists from pop, rap, rock, global, and emerging music communities.
Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny made Grammy history, winning Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos — the first all-Spanish-language album to claim music’s top prize — along with Best Música Urbana Album and Best Global Music Performance. His success highlighted the growing influence of Spanish-language music on the global stage.
In the Big Four categories, Record of the Year was awarded to Kendrick Lamar and SZA for “Luther,” while Song of the Year went to Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell for “Wildflower.” Olivia Dean was named Best New Artist, marking a standout breakthrough moment of the night.
Rap and hip-hop dominated further, with Kendrick Lamar also capturing Best Rap Album for GNX, cementing his status as one of the genre’s most awarded artists in Grammy history.
In pop categories, Lady Gaga earned the Best Pop Vocal Album award for Mayhem and additional recognition for her work, while Lola Young was honored with Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Messy,” highlighting a meaningful return to the spotlight.
Diverse genres were celebrated across the show:
- Turnstile won Best Rock Album, and Nine Inch Nails secured Best Rock Song for “As Alive as You Need Me to Be,” reaffirming rock’s resilience on the awards stage.
- Kehlani triumphed in R&B categories, including Best R&B Performance, and Leon Thomas was recognized with Best R&B Album and Best Traditional R&B Performance.
- Tyla won Best African Music Performance, reflecting ongoing global musical influence.
- Jelly Roll took home Best Contemporary Country Album, underscoring genre diversity among winners.
Canadian producer Cirkut garnered Producer of the Year honours, celebrating his work across multiple hit records.
The evening also recognized achievements in visual media and soundtrack contributions, and Steven Spielberg achieved EGOT status with a Grammy for his role in Music by John Williams.
