Abuja — The wife of Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader, has confirmed that he has arrived at a prison facility in Sokoto, following his transfer from DSS custody in Abuja, Dalena Reporters reports.
Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, publicly announced the move, saying that Kanu is now “so far away from his lawyers, family, loved ones and well-wishers. The transfer takes place shortly after Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court.
Kanu’s family has strongly rejected the relocation. According to his brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, moving him to Sokoto was done “secretly” and raises serious concerns about his safety and access to necessary medical care.
