Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly accused her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of orchestrating the arrest of her elder brother and sister as part of a strategy to compel her return to their home and submit to a rehabilitation programme. The revelations come amid a highly-publicised marital controversy between the couple.
In a series of Instagram stories shared Monday evening, Daniels wrote: “Someone please help me! I feel like I’m losing my mind. I never thought I would do this but my big brother and big sister have been arrested … my baby sister might be arrested soon as well until I return … and, according to him, return to rehab.
Her posts went on to accuse the senator of undermining her character: “You said I’m a drug addict… What other name can you call me? A prostitute? But I will speak on that one day and tell the world of your involvement with everything! Leave my family alone, Ned! And leave me alone too! It is obvious it’s war!” she added.
Daniels’ social-media outburst follows a viral video from October 18 in which she is seen in evident distress, lamenting that “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.
Her elder brother, known online as “Sir.Sammywest,” wrote on his Instagram story: “Dem say dem na Ned send dem. Currently at Ogombo station,” implying the duo was held at the Ogombo police station under orders from the senator.
Senator Nwoko has previously denied allegations of abuse or coercion, instead publicly accusing Daniels of drug and alcohol addiction in a statement titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage And Rampage In My House And In My Absence.” He claimed she assaulted staff, destroyed property and endangered lives, and insisted she must undergo rehabilitation either in Asokoro, Abuja or abroad (specifically naming Jordan) where access to substances would be restricted.
The allegations have exploded into mainstream media, drawing attention to issues of domestic violence, marital rights, individual autonomy, and the role of public figures in family disputes. By accusing a sitting senator and her husband of coercion and family-based detention, Daniels has significantly escalated the public dimension of their marital conflict.
The senator has not yet issued a detailed public response to the specific allegations of sibling arrests and forced rehab as of this publication.
