A 37-year-old man was found stabbed to death inside his apartment in the Bronx, New York, after a relative became concerned when attempts to reach him were unsuccessful and requested a welfare check, police said.

Officers responded to an apartment building on Adams Place near East 182nd Street in the Belmont section of the Bronx at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday. When officers entered the apartment, they found Christopher Osborne unconscious and unresponsive with multiple stab wounds.

Police said Osborne had suffered wounds to his torso, back, left arm and left hand. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

According to law-enforcement sources cited by local media, Osborne was found on the floor of his kitchen near an open refrigerator. Those sources said his fiancée had contacted 911 after she had been unable to reach him for several days.

The circumstances leading to the stabbing remain unclear. Investigators are working to determine what happened inside the apartment and identify the person or people responsible for Osborne's death.

Police have not identified a suspect or announced any arrests in connection with the killing. Authorities also have not established a possible motive and have not disclosed whether anything was taken from the apartment.

Police said Osborne had no prior history with them.

The killing occurred in the 48th Precinct, which had recorded three homicides through September 27, compared with 12 at the same point in 2025, according to figures reported by amNewYork. Those figures do not indicate whether the current killing has been formally included in the precinct's year-to-date total.

Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and establish the sequence of events that preceded the fatal stabbing. Police have not publicly disclosed whether they believe the victim knew his attacker or whether the killing was connected to another criminal incident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Osborne's death to come forward as detectives continue their investigation. The case remains open, and no suspect has been publicly identified or charged.
