A teenager has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the killing of an elderly woman in Pickering, Ontario, bringing a significant development to a case that shocked the local community and raised concerns about youth violence.
The accused, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, admitted in court to the murder of 83-year-old Eleanor Doney, a retired kindergarten teacher who was attacked outside her home in May 2025.
