US Permanent Representative to the UN Mike Waltz said Washington needs to be actively involved in the work of the United Nations to prevent Russia and China from setting global standards.
He said this in an interview with Breitbart.
"We have a choice to make. We simply stand back and allow China, Russia, and all the other countries to set global standards, or we intervene, block, and fight for our companies and the 'America First' agenda," the diplomat said.
Mr. Waltz noted that UN decisions impact all areas of life in the United States, so Washington must advance its interests in this arena.
He has previously advocated for reform of the organization to support the peacekeeping initiatives of the Donald Trump administration .
