Barkin Ladi, Plateau State — November 11, 2025 | Dalena Reporters
Rev. Dachomo, the regional chairman of Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, has announced his intention to bring the Federal Government of Nigeria before the International Criminal Court (ICC) on accusations of orchestrating or failing to prevent what he characterises as a “systematic genocide” against Christian communities in Northern and Middle-Belt Nigeria.
He claims the government, and by extension the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), have ignored or minimised the mass killings of Christians, thereby enabling perpetrators to continue unchecked. Dachomo said that his documentation includes testimonies, videos of attacked villages, mass-grave sites and instances such as worshippers being “burnt alive during a church service” with gas-lamp arson, which he cites as evidence of targeted religious violence. He has asked global audiences and the United States government to intervene, stating:
“The world needs to know that what we are saying is not false… I will go to any length to prove that this government is lying.” Donations exceeding ₦7 million, he says, have already been raised to support victims and aid the compilation of his dossier.
While the Federal Government has not formally responded to these threats, the cleric’s actions underscore intensifying domestic and international scrutiny over violence in Plateau and surrounding regions.
