Kaduna — The Kaduna State Government, under Governor Uba Sani, has reportedly instructed security agencies to prevent journalists from accessing christian villages abandoned after terrorist or bandit attacks, according to Dalena Reporters.
The directive comes in response to investigative reports by Kaduna-based journalist Luka Binniyat of Truth Nigeria, whose coverage challenged the official narrative that displaced residents had returned to their homes. Binniyat visited several deserted communities — including Kujeni in Kajuru LGA, among others in Chikun and Birnin Gwari — and recorded videos showing empty compounds and ruins long after alleged returns.
Security operatives reportedly stopped another journalist at checkpoints in Kajuru LGA. They claimed he needed special clearance from the Government House to proceed, and such access is now said to be reserved for media considered “friendly” to the state’s public relations agenda.
Binniyat’s visuals and testimony suggest that despite official claims, many communities remain uninhabited and lack meaningful government support or security.
