Air Tanzania Assures Stranded Passengers of Flight to Nigeria After NCAA Steps In

Abuja / Dar es Salaam — Air Tanzania has reassured its Nigerian passengers that they will be flown to Nigeria today after being stranded in Dar es Salaam, following intervention by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)

According to Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, the airline has provided the stranded travellers with hotel accommodation and meals, as stipulated by NCAA regulations.

The disruption was reportedly caused by a “technical fault” discovered on the aircraft after passengers had already boarded. While Air Tanzania doesn’t typically fly to Nigeria over weekends, it has committed to operating the flight today to ensure passengers reach their destination.

NCAA said it is closely monitoring the situation and will act if the airline fails to meet its obligations to care for affected passengers.
