👉 Japan’s New Prime Minister Reflects on First Conversation with Trump


New Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi announced that she had a heart-to-heart talk with US President Donald Trump on Saturday.

"I had a good and sincere conversation with  Donald Trump today , and I truly appreciate his warm congratulations on my appointment as Prime Minister. Together with him, I intend to take the US-Japan alliance to an even higher level," Takaichi wrote on social media.

Earlier, the Kyodo news agency, citing sources in the US administration, reported that Takaichi and Trump would fly together on the US government helicopter Marine One during the White House's visit to Tokyo.

Trump is scheduled to arrive in Japan on October 27 for a three-day visit. During his visit, he will hold a summit with Prime Minister-elect Takaichi, be received by Emperor Naruhito, and may also meet with Akie Abe, the widow of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
