Arsenal Will Bounce Back from Villa Blow, Says Arteta

 London — December 6, 2025 | Dalena Reporters

Mikel Arteta insists that Arsenal will recover quickly from Saturday’s painful 2–1 defeat at Villa Park, a result that ended the club’s impressive 18-match unbeaten run and reopened the Premier League title race.

A stoppage-time strike by Emiliano Buendía handed Aston Villa a dramatic win, just after substitute Leandro Trossard had levelled the game for the Gunners following Matty Cash’s earlier opener.

Despite the setback, Arteta struck a determined tone in post-match comments. He acknowledged the disappointment, but emphasised that the squad’s previous consistency and current position still give them “the opportunity to be where we want to be.

The defeat coincides with defensive injury troubles — Arteta confirmed that centre-back Cristhian Mosquera will be sidelined for weeks, intensifying challenges in a beleaguered back-line.

Arteta urged his players and supporters to treat the loss as a temporary stumble rather than a collapse, declaring “we will learn from today and it will make us a better team.

With rivals most notably Manchester City closing the gap at the top of the table, Arsenal have little room for error. For now, the Gunners must regroup and prove they can handle the pressure as the season intensifies.
