The Lagos State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty of Superintendent of Police (SP) Abimbola Adebisi as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command.
Adebisi’s appointment followed the redeployment of the former spokesperson of the command, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, who was recently elevated to the position of Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja.
In August 2025, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, appointed Hundeyin who served as Lagos State PPRO since March 2022, as the new Force PRO, replacing the former controversial Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who was redeployed to Delta State Police Command.
According to Lagos Police Command, SP Adebisi earned a BA (Ed) in English Language and Literature from Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State, and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution as well as a Master of Art (MA) in English Language from the National Open University of Nigeria.
She also posses professional development including a Certificate in Child Protection from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Ghana, along with certifications in Human Rights, Human Psychology, and Conflict Management.
She further attended the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos.
Adebisi, according to a statement issued on Monday by the Lagos Police Command, is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
She also holds memberships with international bodies including the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
Adebisi’s past assignments, according to the statement include serving as Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, and as Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Unit (SPU).
Before assuming her current office, she was the Police Public Relations Liaison Officer at the SPU, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
In the statement signed by Deputy Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Bababseyi Oluseyi, the Command assured Lagos residents that Adebisi would continue strengthening police-community relations in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police.
