Veteran actor Chiwetalu Agu has dismissed rumours of his death, describing the claims as false and misleading.
A Facebook user had claimed the actor died after battling diabetes and undergoing spine surgery.
However, Agu quickly countered the story in a video on his Instagram page, reassuring fans and colleagues that he is alive and well.
Expressing disappointment that people readily believe such reports without verification, Agu blamed attention-seeking bloggers for spreading the false news.
“All because of likes, views, and comments, a blogger wrongly announced my death. They posted ‘RIP’ with my pictures. Let me shock you: Chief Chiwetalu Agu Okenmirin’ezoru1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State, is not going to die any time soon.
Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. The one who digs a pit will fall inside; the one who digs a grave will fall into it. I am going to carry my grandchildren.
Fans and family, please disregard any rumors about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. I am very much alive by God’s grace”
The Nollywood star had similarly faced death rumours in 2020, which he also debunked, cautioning fans against falling for unverified information.
